Figometer Update (October 2008)

Managed 4 completed miniatures throughout October, which isn't bad at all considering i've been away on holiday, been to a weekend wedding, a weekend birthday away and am preparing to look after our first baby next year too!

Several more minis have been started or worked on to various stages of completion too. really got on with the Prussian Landwehr, but you can see that from recent posts. looking forward to getting hold of the Perry Bros French plastic Napoleonics, hopefully i'll be getting them at Christmas if i've been good.

Had a couple of nasty colds recently, where the cold has moved to my chest and caused me considerable discomfort. Is this an old age thing, harder to shrug off ailments? One good thing about the colder weather though, paints on the palette dont dry up for ages, blend ahoy!

Thanks Airhead, for your support and kind words. Though baby hasn't arrived yet, it's due early April next year. Am trying to get as much painting done as I can before it all goes into mothballs!

Congratulations! You won't need to mothball it. I have 6 kids and still find some time to paint. You just have to change your painting habits is all. Instead of leisurely hours you might (will need to) find yourself doing the odd 30-40 minutes here and there. Believe me if you pre-plan you can get a lot done in 30 minutes.

Thanks james, you've shown me hope that I won't need to put the paints away when the little one arrives. What you said makes sense really, i'll adapt to survive!

It's not always easy. There are sometimes when your wife WILL need some extra help with baby and of course you just have to do your bit.
